Today National Legal and Policy Center President Peter Flaherty condemned President Clinton’s timing of the attack on Iraq, hours before his imminent impeachment.
It has always been my belief that when American servicemen are engaged in combat that criticism of the President’s actions should be withheld.
Unfortunately, Bill Clinton did not give the same deference to the President during the Vietnam War when he took part in anti-war demonstrations on foreign soil and even traveled to Moscow.
However, today’s circumstances are extraordinary and demonstrate why Clinton should be removed from office.
Clinton cannot be given the benefit of the doubt on Iraq in light of Scott Ridder’s credible assertions that the Clinton administration sought to avoid a confrontation with Iraq, even to the point of undermining the inspection regime which it said it supported publicly.
Our prayers must be with American servicemen engaged in this action. At the same time we must press for the removal of Clinton with all due haste.
