(Washington, DC) - Today the National Legal and Policy Center inducted Steve Grossman, Chairman of the Democratic National Committee into its Hall of Shame.
The ethics group took the action following Grossman’s comments made a fundraising luncheon in New York on Monday September 14, 1998. At the fund-raiser Grossman gave “our prayer” that Clinton continue to give ‘moral leadership to the country’.
Grossman continued, directing his comments to Clinton,
“You have demonstrated...a higher commitment to the kind of moral leadership that I value in public service and public policy than any person that I have ever met.”
The National Legal and Policy Center successfully sued to open the meetings and records of the First Lady’s health care task force. NLPC promotes ethics and accountability in government through distribution of the “Code of Ethics for Government Service,” and through research, education and legal action.
